For the 11-piece band led by charismatic singer Jürgen “Phil” Mayer, the name says it all. The repertoire of this internationally successful group features the biggest hits of the English megastar and his former band, “Genesis”—in their original sound. Through numerous live concerts in Germany, the U.S., Italy, France, Switzerland, Denmark, and the Benelux countries, the band has earned an outstanding reputation as the most authentic Phil Collins and Genesis tribute band. “Phil” was founded in 1998 by members of the rock group “Amnesia.” For some time, singer Jürgen Mayer had been suggesting that the group take a new musical direction and launch a Phil Collins/Genesis project. The idea wasn’t pulled out of thin air—after all, singer Jürgen is an absolute Phil Collins fan and connoisseur. He bears a striking resemblance to the English megastar, and even better: his voice comes very close to that of the original.

“Amnesia” also had a few Collins songs—such as “In the Air Tonight”—in their setlist and was bombarded by many fans asking them to include even more Collins songs.

Phil Collins himself—with whom the band has been in close contact for years—encourages fans of his music to attend a “Phil” concert. He even sent his personal congratulations on the band’s 10th anniversary! Leland Sklar, Phil Collins’ longtime bassist and collaborator, sent a personal video message congratulating the band on its 25th anniversary.
