The Viennese Singer-Songwriters

Ernst Molden and Der Nino aus Wien are among Austria’s hottest pop musicians. Their next performance at the Vienna Konzerthaus will be their last together for quite some time. Ernst Molden has been performing at the highest level for years, as Die Presse (Samir H. Köck) writes: “Molden’s new albums are among the finest ever recorded in Austrian pop.” And Nino Mandl is considered by Gerhard Stöger of Falter to be “the best singer-songwriter of his generation.”

A Musical Journey Through Vienna
The two spend an entire evening roaming side by side through their hometown, singing about it—and also showing where their greatest role models call home. With “Unser Österreich,” they reached No. 3 on the Ö3 album charts in 2015—without ever having been played there, of course—and in 2021, they even landed at No. 2 with “Zirkus.” In the fall of 2026, they’ll also be bringing along a few new songs. “Here, Ernst Molden and Nino focus primarily on local songs from the 1970s and early 1980s, breathing new, stripped-down life into the works of Wolfgang Ambros, Georg Danzer, Falco, André Heller, and Ludwig Hirsch. The often dubious and sometimes magnificent original arrangements are replaced by two guitars, and anyone who thinks that Falco’s “Nachtflug” has no place in this context is sorely mistaken.” (G. Bus Schweiger/Skug)
