Running time: 80 minutes, one intermission.
The Concordia Mundi ensemble presents Gluck’s masterpiece “Orpheus and Eurydice” in German, staged in the rarely performed original Viennese version from 1762—featuring the conciliatory, original ending, the famous “Viennese Finale.”
Experience the ancient myth of Orpheus in its most comforting form: Cupid intervenes, the power of love triumphs over death, and Eurydice returns to Orpheus.
In a historically inspired stage adaptation, a moving musical drama unfolds, bridging the Baroque and Classical eras—clear, immediate, and deeply human.
The crypt is pleasantly temperate year-round.
