An alarm clock rings. And right in the middle of hibernation? Astonished, the two dormouse children, Penelop and Emanuel, rub their eyes. What happened? “Yay! It’s Christmas today!” they shout in unison and jump out of bed. For the first time in their lives, their dear little uncle has woken them up so they, too, can experience the big Christmas celebration. The time has finally come!

Wow, the wish letters are gone! So Fünklein, the enchanting Christmas fairy, really did pick them up! Penelop and Emanuel are buzzing with excitement.

Since there’s no Christmas for the dear dormice without a flute concert, the two immediately dig out their flutes and throw themselves into rehearsals with great enthusiasm. The chaos begins… and everything almost goes wrong, if it weren’t for sweet Fünklein, who reconciles everyone at the last moment and saves the beautiful celebration!

There is both a good side and a mischievous side to every person. Instead of viewing someone as well-behaved or bad, good or evil, we should recognize the positive in everyone—only then can growth and genuine togetherness flourish.
