Raùl de Marr —choreographer, dancer, and actor—presents a new interpretation of Georges Bizet’s opera “Carmen” as a tango ballet. Director and choreographer Raúl de Marr has divided the original libretto into 22 scenes and set the action in the present day. Elements of classical and Argentine tango are combined with ballet, modern dance, and acrobatics.

Flaka Goranci is a versatile mezzo-soprano known for her intense stage presence, powerful dramatic expression, and musical versatility. She is particularly acclaimed for roles such as Carmen, Charlotte, Olga, Maria, Jenny, and more. In her current production, *Carmen Tango Ballet*, she combines singing and tango dance into a powerful, modern interpretation of the iconic character.

Conductor Vasilis Tsiatsiánis accompanies the tango dancers alongside musicians from the WieSonus Chamber Orchestra. The music by Georges Bizet has been rearranged for a tango septet by contemporary composers Ronen Nissan and Oliver Payan Bilbao.
