BAL-CONCERT
6:30 p.m. Dance Crash Course
7:30 p.m. Concert begins
Hotel Palindrone’s Bal Concert, which has long been a popular fixture in the Sargfabrik program, is back for another round—and once again invites you to dance, listen, and immerse yourself in the experience. We’ll kick things off with a dance class featuring live music for circle, line, and partner dances. A dance instructor will charmingly help you overcome any initial hurdles.
This will be followed by the tried-and-true Bal Concert, featuring dance music spanning the centuries and the diverse cultures of Europe. Dancing is expressly encouraged and welcome, but it’s just as lovely to simply let yourself go and enjoy the musical diversity of this extraordinary band—from yodeling to beatboxing, from vintage country songs to jazzy saxophone solos, traditional melodies, and original compositions.
What makes this evening special: Hotel Palindrone is currently preparing their new album. So perhaps some pieces will get their very first taste of the stage this evening and celebrate their preview. In any case: they boldly defy cultural and other boundaries. World music in the best sense—rousing, joyful, and clever.
Albin Paulus – clarinet, jaw harps, bagpipes (Bock, Sackpfeife), flutes, bombarde, vocals & yodeling, Stephan Steiner – violin, hurdy-gurdy, diatonic accordion, nyckelharpa, vocals, Andreas Neumeister – guitar, vocals, Peter Natterer – bass, saxophone, piano
With half the seats set up, the concert hall offers plenty of space for both the audience and our dancing Bal Folk guests!
