One year after the tragic passing of Willi Resetarits, alias Dr. Kurt Ostbahn, a band from eastern Austria was formed to bring the sensational music of Ostbahn-Kurti & die Chefpartie back to the stage in its original form. Five experienced musicians, dedicated to classic rock ’n’ roll, the band’s unmistakable dialect lyrics, and the very special Ostbahn style, have been treating their fans to unforgettable concert evenings ever since. They’ve already played sold-out shows at the Spinnerei Traun, the Waldviertler Kammerbühne, the Stadtsaal Zwettl, twice at the Vindobona, and at the Szene Wien, as well as at numerous other venues. And in the summer of 2025, Ostpartie recently gave by far the most extraordinary concert of their career to date...

At the end of August, they took the stage in front of an audience of around 5,000 at “Nachklang” at Vienna’s Central Cemetery, right next to the graves of honor, where Willi Resetarits also found his final resting place. Ostpartie headlined the evening’s grand, roughly one-hour finale and had to perform several encores, including—together with the Junge Tenöre—the cult song “Es lebe der Zentralfriedhof” by Wolfgang Ambros and “Feuer,” both of which are a must at this venue.

Now, on Friday, May 1, 2026, Ostpartie’s third concert at the Vindobona is scheduled, where the quintet already played to sold-out houses in the spring and fall of 2025. It’s impossible to determine exactly how many times Willi Resetarits has performed on the Vindobona stage, but it’s likely been well over 100 appearances. With the Schmetterlinge alone, he performed several dozen times; just as many as Ostbahn-Kurti; and just as many with virtually all of his other projects and bands. That’s why there’s no more fitting stage in Vienna for Ostpartie. Advance ticket sales are already in full swing:

The Ostpartie’s breathtaking show—lasting over two hours—features all their biggest hits and crowd-pleasers, such as “Feuer,” “Radl nach Rio,” “Arbeit,” “Chili con Carne,” “I hea di klopfn,” “Da Joker,” or “57er Chevy,” nor cult classics like “Kilo,” “Ois hot sei End,” “Neiche Schoin,” “Nochtschicht,” or “Na, so wirst ned oid.” Of course, Dr. Kurt Ostbahn’s legendary introductions and banter are also included for the delight of the audience. With their concerts, Ostpartie aims not only to keep this magnificent music alive but also to honor an artist whose social commitment was unique and exemplary.

For the first time as part of a Vienna concert, we’re offering something special here at Vindobona: In the first set, the Ostpartie will now perform the legendary album “A schene Leich” in its original order and with the original five-piece lineup that the band featured until 1988.
