Maya Hakvoort, the grande dame of musicals, has always found inspiration in the life and songs of Barbra Streisand and will now take her audience on a very personal musical journey this evening:
“I will interpret these wonderful songs with the same level of dedication and perfectionism that she herself demonstrates in her music, while at the same time infusing them with my own style and emotions to give the songs my personal touch.”

In the spring of 2024, this exciting, entertaining, and deeply moving evening celebrated its acclaimed premiere.

The evening is accompanied musically by pianist Martin Wöss.
Maya Hakvoort invites you to an intimate yet truly grand evening—together with her audience, she immerses herself in the fabulous world of Barbra Streisand.

Maya Hakvoort, a native of the Netherlands, trained at the Maastricht Conservatory, the Kleinkunst Academy, and the “De Trap” acting school in Amsterdam. She made her breakthrough in Austria in 1994 as “Elisabeth” in the musical of the same name, which she performed over 1,000 times in Vienna, Trieste, Osaka, Tokyo, and in front of Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna.

She has played numerous leading roles in productions such as *Chicago*, *Les Misérables*, *Gaudí*, *Catharine*, *Blutsbrüder*, *Aspects of Love*, The Three Musketeers, *Jekyll & Hyde*, *Evita*, *High Society*, *Kiss Me, Kate*, *Victor/Victoria*, *Rebecca*, *Love Never Dies*, *Sunset Boulevard*, *Cats*, *Next to Normal*, *Don Camillo & Peppone*, *Little Me*, *Carrie*, *Heidi*, *Anatevka*, *Into the Woods*, *Cabaret*, and in 2024 in *Sunset Boulevard* at the Landestheater in Innsbruck; since 2025, she has been performing in *Wicked* and , in 2026, in *The Sound of Music* at the Bühne Baden.

Since 2004, she has been producing her solo programs, the concert series “4Voices of Musical,” and her musical productions *Next to Normal*, *Blutsbrüder*, and *Into the Woods* through her company MHMP. She is currently also on tour with the concerts “The Music of Bond,” “4Voices of Musical,” “Honoring Barbra Streisand,” and “Maya Hakvoort – Soundtracks of My Life.”

Since May 2024, she has been singing the title role of Lady M. in Shanghai, where she will continue to delight her Asian fan base in the near future as part of gala concerts.

Maya Hakvoort has been awarded the Golden Medal of Merit of the Republic of Austria, the Grand Decoration of Honor for Services to the State of Lower Austria, and the Golden Rathausmann of the City of Vienna. She also received the 2023 Austrian Music Theater Award for “Best Musical Performance.” In February 2025, Maya Hakvoort became the first European woman to receive the Magnolia Stage Performance Award in the “Best Leading Role” category for her portrayal of the title role in “Lady M.”
