"In the end, everyone is dead …" This is how the Wikipedia entry aptly describes Victorien Sardou’s play, which enjoyed worldwide success with the legendary Sarah Bernhardt in the role of the opera singer Floria Tosca.

This was followed by Giacomo Puccini’s opera “Tosca,” which premiered on January 14, 1900, at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome.

Now this immortal opera thriller can be experienced in a new production at the LEO.

The title role is sung by the highly dramatic Annette Fischer, who is truly the ideal choice for this part. Stefan Fleischhacker portrays the painter Mario Cavaradossi with his usual total commitment, and we are pleased to announce Timon Führ as the villainous Baron Scarpia—a singer with a wonderfully resonant baritone voice.
