Info
An evening about detours, misunderstandings, and the art of getting in your own way
In his second show, Peter Panierer takes his audience on a journey through his own life—from the little quirks of childhood to chaotic teenage adventures to the observations of an adult who’s still trying to make sense of life. These are stories of mishaps, luck, absurd situations, and moments when you’d rather just disappear—told with a mix of daring, cheekiness, and a whole lot of heart.
Whether it’s uncontrollable fits of laughter in churches, disastrous trips to the barber, or vacations where you only escape unscathed by sheer luck: Panierer lets the audience share directly in his experiences. Having grown up in a working-class neighborhood, he brings a distinctive Viennese flair and street-smart wit to the stage, without sacrificing personality or depth.
His humor is always personal, often provocative, and frequently pushes boundaries. He gets worked up about people, systems, and a society that astonishingly and unerringly gets in its own way—and about the absurd rules of life that we constantly impose on ourselves. But even more often, he laughs at himself, his own missteps, and weaknesses.
“STREUGUT” is comedy straight from life, cabaret that loves pace and punchlines, and an evening full of stories that linger: honest, funny, sometimes uncomfortable—and always inviting you to recognize yourself in them.
