Info

The Salvatorians Worldwide Association invites you to an extraordinary benefit concert at St. Michael's Church in Vienna on November 14, 2026. The program includes Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Requiem in D minor, KV 626. Experiencing the Mozart Requiem in St. Michael's Church means listening to music history at its original location. The Mass of the Soul for Mozart took place here in 1791, when parts of his Requiem were heard for the first time.

Worldwide aid projects
The proceeds of the evening will benefit the worldwide aid projects of Salvatorians Worldwide, which work in numerous countries for disadvantaged and needy people.

Historic venue with a unique Mozart connection
St. Michael's Church, one of the oldest churches in Vienna and a former imperial and royal court parish church. On December 10, 1791, the requiem mass for Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart took place here, at which parts of his unfinished Requiem were performed for the first time.
In addition, the special acoustics of the church and the baroque sound of the Sieber organ from 1714, one of the most important historical instruments in Europe, offer the best conditions for an authentic performance of the Mozart Requiem.

Performers
Soloists, choir and St. Michael's Orchestra will perform under the direction of Manuel Schuen, Director of Church Music at St. Michael's Church and Professor of Choral Conducting at the Institute for Organ, Organ Research and Church Music at the mdw - University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
