Info
"You can only see well with your heart, the essentials are invisible to the eyes" or "You are eternally responsible for what you have made familiar to yourself." Anyone who has ever read The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry will remember many of the clever and poetic sentences for the rest of their lives - an "education of the heart" for young & old. The story of the little prince, who travels from planet to planet and experiences many curious encounters, and the pilot, who is searching for his inner child, has become a classic of children's and young adult literature. No less a theater than La Scala in Milan commissioned the family opera Il piccolo principe. In 2022, Italian composer Pierangelo Valtinoni transformed the story into a work lasting just under an hour, combining the magic and humor of the tale with romantic music almost reminiscent of Puccini and focusing on the child's view of the world. In Vienna, the American-Austrian director Louisa Muller brings the opera to the stage in a lovingly designed and imaginative production.
