Info
Joesi Prokopetz and Dieter Chmelar in duet and duel Austria's oldest up-and-coming cabaret artists serve up a best-of from their two successful programs "Evergrins" and "Für und Zwider".
Plus: contemplative and thought-provoking pieces for a special occasion. You can sit on pins and needles, because there are fine tips in store - a colorful gift under the tree of "Confession of Humor" as God's greatest gift: Blessed are the laughing ones!
Joesi Prokopetz, born in 1952, was at the cradle of Austropop with his brilliant lyrics for the Ambros hits "Da Hofa" (1971) or "Zentralfriedhof" (1975), when it was still called "Dialektwelle". With "Codo" (DÖF, 1983) or "Taxi "*, he himself became a celebrated frontman and absolute top seller, before embarking on a stellar career in the advertising industry as a gifted word artist ("Lustig samma, Puntigamer"). As the oddball cult figure "Herr Rädl" and with various solo programs, he has conquered the cabaret stages for 30 years and has recently been captivating not only his fan community but also as a crime writer (most recently published: "Die Blume aus dem Gemeindebau").
Dieter Chmelar, born in 1957, had a short career on catwalks and screens (as a slim model, which was still called "Dressman" in the 1980s, and as a tight little actor in raunchy films) and spent almost five decades as a journalist, columnist, cabaret artist and TV presenter (including at the KURIER and on ORF's prime time and main evening programs). He has written show texts and program punchlines for Peter Rapp, Klaus Eberhartinger, Alfons Haider, Rainhard Fendrich, Harry Prünster, Mad Schuh and, last but not least, Joesi Prokopetz). Chmelar is considered Austria's "world champion of pointless knowledge" (20 x telephone joker in the "Millionenshow", 16 correct answers).
