Off to the cathedral! Leave the Christmas hustle at the gates of the cathedral and look forward to atmospheric, pre-Christmas choral music sung by young singers in the impressive nave of st. stephen's cathedral. Romantic and neoclassical compositions by Camille Saint-Saëns, Gabriele Fauré, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and Engelbert Humperdinck will be the focus of the concert.

Around the enchanting-sounding "Oratorio de Noël" by Camille Saint-Saëns you will hear a diverse program of choral music for the Advent and Christmas season. This year, the viennese children's and youth choirs will sing in German, French, Latin, Polish, Russian and Ukrainian. In doing so, they want to set an example for international understanding and peace.

Choral singing at the music schools of the City of Vienna is primarily anchored at the "Singschule". Singing lessons with the main subject Wiener KinderStimmen appeal to all the senses and enable every child to gain their first musical experiences. The advanced choral and vocal training is continued in the vienna-wide children's and youth choirs (Vienna ABC Choirs, Vienna Children's Choir, Vienna Crescendo Choir, Vienna Girls' Choir, Vienna Youth Choir) including accompanying vocal instruction.

This year, the advanced singers of the Vienna Children's Choir, the Vienna Girls' Choir and the Vienna Youth Choir are looking forward to the opportunity to sing in the festive ambience of the Cathedral - to give you a contemplative time and a set the mood for Christmas.
