The band from Aachen was formed in 1999 around the singer and songwriter Der Graf.
There are few details about him as a private person.
He released several albums with UNHEILIG, including Große Freiheit with the single Geboren um zu leben (Born to Live ) in 2010.
In 2016, Der Graf left the group for personal reasons before announcing their reunion in 2025, a new studio album and extensive tours.
