Info
Till Lindemann was born on January 4, 1963 in Leipzig and grew up in the GDR. His father, Werner Lindemann, was a well-known children's book author, his mother a journalist. In his youth, Till was a successful competitive swimmer and was even prepared for the 1980 Olympic Games, but had to abandon his sporting career due to an injury and political circumstances.
After working in various trades, Lindemann began his musical career in the 1980s as the drummer of the punk band First Arsch. In 1994, together with Richard Z. Kruspe, Paul Landers, Oliver Riedel, Christoph Schneider and Christian "Flake" Lorenz, he founded the band Rammstein, which achieved international fame with its unique style - a mixture of hard music, provocative lyrics and spectacular pyro shows.
In addition to Rammstein, Lindemann is also active as a solo artist, for example with the Lindemann project, and has published several volumes of poetry that show his dark, poetic side. His works are often controversial, but artistically sophisticated and profound.
Till Lindemann is considered one of the most influential figures in German rock music - known for his distinctive baritone voice, his explosive stage presence and his artistic versatility.
