The Dark Tenor

As a member of the Dresdner Kreuzchor and the choir of the Semper Oper Dresden, Billy Andrews is not new to the world of classical music. As a trained tenor, he moved from Dresden to Berlin in 2010 and escaped the rigid mechanisms of classical music to find a way to make classical music accessible to everyone.

In 2014, Billy Andrews launched the Dark Tenor project and has been impressively and successfully bridging the gap between classical music and rock ever since. Since his debut album "Symphony of Light", Dark Tenor has become a celebrated phenomenon, known not only for its innovative sounds and profound musical experiences, but also for taking the classical genre into the 21st century by incorporating modern technology. The world's first 3D printed luminous cello "Poppy" has become an integral part of Dark Tenor's shows!
