Rise Against

Rise Against is an American punk rock band from Chicago, founded in 1999 under the name Transistor Revolt. The group is known for its melodic hardcore sound and its strong political commitment, especially to animal rights - several members are vegetarian or vegan and support organizations such as PETA and Sea Shepherd.
After a self-produced demo, the band signed with Fat Wreck Chords and released their first two albums there. They later switched to Dreamworks Records, where Siren Song of the Counter Culture was created, which was eventually released on Geffen Records. This was followed by further albums such as The Sufferer & the Witness, Appeal to Reason, Endgame, The Black Market, Wolves and Nowhere Generation.
The band underwent several line-up changes, including guitarist Zach Blair joining the group in 2007. In 2012, Rise Against appeared on TV total for the first time. In 2013, the compilation Long Forgotten Songs was released. In 2025, the band released the songs Nod and Prizefighter to herald a new album.
Rise Against combines musical energy with social awareness and remains a defining voice in modern punk rock.
