Nickelback is a Canadian rock band that has been one of the most successful representatives of alternative and post-grunge since the mid-1990s. Founded in Hanna, Alberta, the band around frontman Chad Kroeger developed a sound that combines powerful guitar riffs with catchy melodies. With hits such as "How You Remind Me", "Photograph" and "Rockstar", they achieved worldwide fame and shaped the rock music of the 2000s. Nickelback is known for its mixture of hard rock, alternative rock and pop elements and, with over 50 million albums sold, is one of the most commercially successful rock bands of the present day.
