About Mike Oldfield:
Michael Gordon "Mike" Oldfield is a British multi-instrumentalist, composer and songwriter. In his music he mixes elements of rock, world music and classical music. His breakthrough and most famous composition came in 1973 with the album Tubular Bells. In the 1980s, Oldfield reached a wide audience with songs such as Moonlight Shadow, To France and Shadow on the Wall, without giving up his artistic independence. In addition to catchy hits, he created orchestral works such as the film music for The Killing Fields and experimental projects such as Amarok. In the 1990s, he continued the Tubular Bells series with further parts and presented a technically and artistically revised version in 2003 with Tubular Bells 2003. For its 50th anniversary in 2023, the work was celebrated with remasters and an internationally successful orchestral project that delighted both new listeners and loyal fans. Mike Oldfield concerts are rare, but when they happen, they are unforgettable. His performance at the turn of the millennium in front of 600,000 people in Berlin is still considered legendary today. Anyone who wants to experience the full orchestral power of his music, its striking themes and hypnotic depth live should not miss the opportunity. The emotional dimension of his compositions is particularly evident on stage - and why Oldfield is one of the most influential sound designers of our time.
