Info

The Rome-born singer Marco Di Sapia, a member of the Vienna Volksoper ensemble, and the Joe Hofbauer Quintet present a selection of the most legendary songs by the Italian 50s singer Fred Buscaglione in their joint concert evening "Buonasera Signorina". With his charming, slightly rebellious style, Fred Buscaglione became very well known in Italy in the 1950s. His music combined elements of jazz, swing and blues and was characterized by its lively instrumentation, often accompanied by horns and jazzy arrangements. As he makes fun of the North American Italian gangster world, his lyrics are humorous, with a wink and a good dose of self-irony. The themes of his songs are often about love and loss, but also about the lust for life and the hedonistic lifestyle that he himself embodied.

As a German-Italian singer, Marco Di Sapia will lead through the evening and give a short German description of his work before each song, highlighting the most important and funniest aspects of each song. The bold and refreshing mixture of different genres, reflecting the lively atmosphere of the 1950s, can be expected at the concert evening. With his unique stage presence, Marco Di Sapia knows how to win over the audience and thus create a more than entertaining evening.

Excerpts from the program:

Teresa non sparare, Eri piccola cosí, Buonasera signorina, Che notte quella notte, Guarda che luna, I found my love in Portofino,... and many more.
