Baroque masterpieces played on original instruments bring the sound of the period in which they were written to life and open up direct access to the music of the 17th and 18th centuries.
Italian Baroque music with all its virtuosity, passion and melodic richness shows why Italy, the country of origin of the Baroque, became a style-forming force for the whole of Europe. Expressive cantilenas, brilliant solo playing, rousing rhythms and clear dramatic gestures characterize this programme.
Established as Austria's smallest opera house and concert hall, the performances in the KRYPTA captivate with their intensity, high quality and unusual venue. Located deep beneath St. Peter's Church in Vienna, the intimate hall offers a personal experience that attracts guests from all over the world.
The KRYPTA is pleasantly temperate at any time of year.
