"One of the most unique groups you will ever come across . . I can only describe their sound as being a sound which one has longed to hear without truly realizing it." (The Bubble)

"In today's world, there are no musical boundaries," says Max ZT of House of Waters - a trio that fuses West African rhythms, jazz, psychedelia, indie rock, classical and world music into a unique, intoxicating sound.

Described by NPR as the "Jimi Hendrix of the dulcimer", Max ZT transforms the rarely heard instrument into a dazzling universe of sound, inspired by his studies in Senegal and India. Moto Fukushima, master of the six-string bass guitar, complements him with a playing that oscillates between filigree precision and powerful energy - and regularly leaves the audience in awe.

Their current album On Becoming, nominated for the GRAMMY Awards 2024, shows House of Waters as pioneers of the modern jazz avant-garde: open, free and yet always in dialog with the audience.

The band has already scored an Emmy award-winning documentary, reinterpreted old French silent films from the Dada era and performed on stage with the likes of Ravi Shankar, Victor Wooten, Tinariwen and Snarky Puppy.
As Onstage Review aptly writes:
"House of Waters is a band that is bending the very fabric of the musical universe as we know it."
